A scaffolding kit I created for TLotR: Gollum. I started by doing concepts and blockouts. Then, once the design was set, I transferred it into 3d. The final kit uses one texture sheet combined with detail maps. With the appropriate base material assigned, vertex paint can be used to paint in variation. The kit was used in various levels, often modified. It proved practical to prebuild larger chunks from the base modules. In some cases, I mapped the UVs of new, additional assets onto the existing texture atlas. Later during the project, I added a tilling wood planks set to cover large areas.
